The property owners were looking for an opportunity to add usable space to their charming bungalow. An existing detached garage became the perfect candidate.
By using the existing garage footprint as the base, a new connector piece was developed to attach the garage to the existing house. The new structure adds a guest suite and bath on the lower level and, upstairs, a great open-plan workspace with a balcony that overlooks the existing back yard.
Existing design details from the main house were used to tie all the elements together to give the homeowners a comfortable space for guests and user-friendly work environment for working from home.
